Avrora LLC and the Istisu mineral water plant have signed a partnership agreement. Avrora will distribute natural mineral water produced under the Istisu brand to retail outlets across Azerbaijan. To make the water accessible to consumers, Avrora will deliver products to more than 12,000 outlets.
Istisu originates from thermal springs in the mountainous Kalbajar region of Azerbaijan at an altitude of more than 1,600 metres above sea level. Emerging naturally at temperatures above 60°C, it is considered a rare mineral-rich water of the region. Studies classify it as bicarbonate, sulphate and sodium natural mineral water because of its composition.
A plant also operated in Istisu settlement during the Soviet period. During the Armenian occupation, however, the Istisu sanatoriums and plant, like many of our economic facilities, were destroyed and left unusable.
Following our historic victory in Karabakh, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the new Istisu natural mineral water plant on 26 June 2022. Construction was completed in 2024, and the plant officially opened on 2 September 2024 in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
